Prior to joining his brother and dad at WSA Construction, Pete Wallis had a distinguished career as a naval aviator. In fact, he had been in charge of a Navy special weapons testing team. The organizational and managerial skills he acquired in the military were genuine assets when he returned to Twisp in 2001 to join the family business.

As a project and business manager, Pete’s work is demanding – juggling schedules, coordinating employees, consulting with clients and a host of other responsibilities. He takes his work very seriously. An example would be the nearly fifteen hundred e.mails exchanged with a client on a recent project. But the results are obvious. People love working with Pete. A client recently commented, “Your attention to detail is much appreciated. Our building experience was very successful.”

Pete and his wife, Angie, live up Elbow Canyon with their two children, Calvin and Claire. The family enjoys a variety of activities together. In the winter they try to ski together at least one day a week. In the summer, many weekends are taken up with motocross racing. And Claire recently got a horse, and with her brother spends hours down at the barn, grooming Sky, or cleaning the stall. In many ways, Pete’s life epitomizes the WSA work/family balance. When he’s at work, he gives it his best. But when it’s quittin’ time, there’s no place he’d rather be than spending time with Angie and the kids.
